Connection to Global Warming
Global warming is warming the oceans which makes it easier for hurricanes to start. It is caused when moisture goes into the air, when odd wind patterns occur, and when the ocean warms up by a significant amount. If the climate increases in temperatures a hurricane is bound to happen, just like Hurricane Katrina was born. The warming of the water was very crucial fuel for the formation. While the water expands when heated, it is described as a full pot of water being boiled on a stove because the water expands than over flows, just like the oceans from Hurricane Katrina. The fact that the global sea levels have risen 1.25 inches in the past couple years it is evidence that the oceans have warmed up even since hurricane Katrina struck. When enough moisture went into the atmosphere it tiggered many severe thunderstroms which then quickly lead to Hurricane Katrina. The heat, was the relased as water vapor, then condensed in rainfall and fuels which quickly intensified Hurricane Katrina.
